Last weekend I got an IM from Somebody I hadn’t met before, a fellow named Junior Yifu. What I call Left field friends. Because they come out of left field, and generally disrupt your SL day. To make a long story shorter, Junior is a Brazillian in RL and wanted to start DJing in SL and someone had given him my name as a really good DJ in SL. (I came to find out later is that was a nice woman, also from Brazil, who had seen my Groove Sunday DJ set at the Jazz Link.) So after spending an unplanned hour being nice to Junior and helping sort out the technical difficulties associated with streaming audio I get back to what I was origionally doing, building on my race car. After about 5 more IMs from this guy, I set my self to Busy mode to get some work done.
I do wish that you could set busy mode just for some people.
I know I could use mute and not receive, Junior’s IM’s but I’m a softy and think that impolite. And I try to be polite, even when he starts Sending TPs (teleports) while I’m DJing. Sheesh.
So the ironic semi-ending is that I went to the House-Divas Club last night to watch and hear Junior spin and about 10minutes into his set. I realized that it wasn’t Junior that I was hearing, but the clubs internet radio station…Poor Junior bitten by the technical bug.
Well Junior is DJing again over the next 2 nights at the House-Divas Club http://slurl.com/secondlife/island3/29/52/23 Be there for some hot international house music.

Halloween, you’d think I’d be partying at the hundreds of costume parties in SL. First, costume parties are bit redundant, in that SL is one big costume party all the time IMO. Second, I’ve got some RL things to take care of.
I did put a 1024 property in Shouldice up for sale and did a little tweaking to my new property in Sociaria. An early log-off and a boring post. C’est la deuxième vie!

I had some real estate matters to deal with today. I’d bought a 2048 Sq. Meter property over the weekend that is on protected water. Protected water means that you can take a speedboat or a sailboat out on a Linden owned inland sea. This is a very positive thing, if say, you sell boats, like I do. So buying the 2048 upped my land tier payments to $40US a month. so I need to sell some land to get back to the $25 a month tier . I had my former boat-selling property for sale at 60,000 L$ for a 1024, which was steep, but the propery was on protected water, a huge selling point. Nevertheless I thought about it overnight and reduced the price to 45KL$. At 45KL$ it sold in less than an hour, should’ve asked 50K ;-). I situated My yacht and a speedboat at the new property as well as doing a little terraforming. There is the best haunted house above and adjacent to my new property. Morbidly delicious.
So with most of my work done, except figuring out how to sell another 512 Sq. Meters of land, Iwent out danceing with Lilly Dilly. The first stop was Ned Kelly’s an Aussie bar, which I tired of quickly. Then I checked out a Manga release party, but wasn’t really in the mood for a giesha show, so we drifted over to the Moonlight Serenade Club where Lilly is a resident “lover” photographer. DJ Cali Janus was spinning some excellent Old school swing (read Cab Calloway) and some new rockabilly swing (which ain’t jazz really in my book.) While dancing the conversation turned to haunted items on e-Bay and iPods and the great unwashed without iPods. Coincindentally a gal that had Wozniak as a last name was there. Ironic frivolity ensued.

A SLeb is a SL celeberty. If you have a a fan group and people not on your friends list call you by your first name, you might be a SLeb.
My favorite example is Komuso Tokugawa, An Australian living in Tokyo that plays and streams live American blues music into SL.

I finished the MotoSL motorcycle racing leathers for RamsesIII Pharoh who races for the Pure Racing Team in the Moto SL Series. And then I hung out with my good friend Lilly Dilly in my swimming pool at my skybox and talked about our RLs (Real Lives)
